WHAT'S GOING ON WITH EQUIFAX?

Equifax is a credit reporting agency.
Rooted in Atlanta, Georgia, they collect credit information on
800+ million people and 80+ million businesses.
Equifax, along with Experian and TransUnion (the "Big Three")
are the world's largest credit agencies. Despite this,
They are still vulnerable to hacks, breaches, and mistakes.



Equifax was indeed hacked in 2017. Personal information for 143+ million
Americans was revealed, including some social security numbers.

This hack left many Americans scrambling to protect their credit.
New credit cards had to be issued and hundreds of millions were lost in compensation.
This breach reduced public trust in big-name industries and cyber security.


My family was possibly affected. My parents were notified somebody
got their credit card numbers and had to get new cards.
